- Can be left to chemically cure for 24hrs.
- Must not be subject to sub-zero temperatures before it has a chance to cure, as it will go brittle and not cure properly

Metal & Plastic
- 2K application – spray gun application
- No baking required
- Chemical reaction with the substrate
- Emulates a powder coat finish
- Plastic / most powder coated surfaces – no primer required. There may be the off type of powder coated surface that will a primer. Metal – AK Primer/2250 primer required.
- Satin/Matt finish
- Flame & fire resistant
- Good weathering characteristics and resistance to chemicals
- Saves on drying time – quick and cost effective
- Flexible and durable coating for PVCu and Metal ( needs primer if metal)
- Ready to spray – just mix in the hardener
- Can be applied vertically or horizontally on trestles
- Theoretical coverage is approximately 7.1metres square ( without loss by spray)
- Will flash off in around 5-10 minutes.

- Plastic – Substrate has to be thoroughly cleaned using cleaner 154. Metal – clean, apply primer, sand, and then apply top coat
- Hardener 279. Mix ratio 10:1
- Pot life 8 hrs (when hardener and paint have been mixed together)

Metal & PVCu surfaces
- 2K application (polyurethane/acrylic combination) – spray gun/brush application
- High solid top coat
- No primer required will go straight on, unless its aluminium or galvanised
- 2250/AK primer can be used in general, as this will prolong paint life
- Is supplied un-thinned
- Thinners need to be added when spraying
- Tops coats can be applied wet on wet
- Good weathering characteristic’s and good resistance to chemicals
- Chemical reaction with the substrate
- 50 microns dry film thickness
- Can be supplied in satin 60% gloss or gloss 90%
- If the surface is damaged or likely to get damaged/flaking a primer would be recommended, as over time water can get underneath and will cause flaking
- Hardener 279. 4:1 mix ratio
- Pot life approx. 8 hrs ( once paint & hardener are mixed together)
- If the surface is PVCU it must be thoroughly pre cleaned using 153b& 154 cleaner. If its aluminium, galvanised or steel, scotch first then clean with U cleaner. If it’s onto old coats of paint, sand off and clean with 154.
- Spray area must remain at a temperature of 18-20 ° C to ensure no adhesion problems and workable dying times
- Tack dry after 30 minutes.
- Theoretical coverage is approximately 8.5m2 without loss of spraying (including the hardener & thinner). 5m2 if brushing
- Spray, brush or roll (brushes out well). Hardener can act as a thinner when brush/roller applied.
- To be thinned with 550 for brush or roller application. Up to 5% if brushing, but it can be brushed in its original viscosity and simply add the hardener.
- Nozzle size 2-2.2mm
- Tin sizes 1,3 & 5 kilos
- We match our colours to 0.5 of a DE
- Further technical support available on line and by phone/email

Clear Coat Sparkle & GP Backing Coat
- Remove filter from spray gun as this will affect your finish. Separate gun to only be used for sparkle coatings.
- Spray gun used for sparkles to be cleaned in a separate area – do not use standard cleaning system as you will get contamination.
- Spray booth area to be cleaned after sparkle applications to stop contamination where the sparkle flex contains silicone.
- Ensure glass is thoroughly cleaned and de greased
- Apply 2 x full coats in opposite directions to achieve our standard sparkle finish
- Allow coat to dry for approximately 15-20 minutes. If you require a non-standard sparkle finish then further coats can be applied.
- One you have achieved the level of sparkle required apply 1 x medium coat of AVKOTE GP Full Colour
- BACKING COLOUR will flash off in around 2-3 minutes. Next coat can be applied
- IMPORTANT AVKOTE GP Sparkles contain silicone. You must add 1% contrasil to the AVKOTE GP full colour prior to application on top of the sparkle so that the coating does not pin hole
- IMPORTANT Contrasil does not need to be added to the GP full colour if the customer is using the AVKO Silver Sparkle. This is not a flex it’s a pigment (LE93 metallic)
- AVKO Silver Sparkle and the Rainbow Sparkle are ordered as a standard mix. All other sparkles can be ordered in either a solid or scattered application
- 2K application
- Chemical reaction with the substrate
- Good weathering characteristics and resistance to chemicals
- Saves on drying time – quick and cost effective
- No baking required
- No primer required
- Ready to spray ( need to mix hardener in & 1% contrasil where required)
- Spray gun application
- Theoretical coverage is approximately 11 meter sq ( without loss by over spray)
- Hardener 279 . Mix ratio is 10:1 for the backing colour & 4:1 for the sparkle clear coat (all mixes are on the tin and TDS.) It’s important that the correct amount is put in as this will affect the drying time & adhesion
- Once open. Pot life of 8hrs ( when paint and hardener are mixed together)
- Nozzle 1.4 -1.8mm ( depending on finish)
- Tin sizes, 1,3 & 5 litre
- When colour matching we work to tight tolerances
- Further technical support is available online and by phone/email
